Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To clarify the effect of the tactile map area on the search time for tactile symbols, we conducted a haptic searching experiment using five different sizes of tactile maps (A3, B4, A4, B5, A5). In the previous study, the experiment was conducted on seven participants. In this study, we increased the number of participants to twenty. The results show that as the size of the tactile map increased, the search time became longer, the percentage of parallel sweeping search strategies increased, and the number of trials increased in which the entire tactile map was explored once or more before the target was found.
