Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Polyion complex (PIC) formed from cationic polysaccharide and anionic polysaccharide is attracting attention as biomaterials, but there is difficulties in moldability and processability. In this study, we developed fabrication method of biomaterials using polysaccharide PIC particles obtained by mixing a dilute solution of polysaccharide as a building component. Dispersion of polysaccharide PIC particles were cast on a substrate and dried to form a self-supporting film. In addition, by adding ions to the polysaccharide PIC particle dispersion, aggregation was induced to form a hydrogel. Both film and hydrogel could be used as cell scaffolds.
