Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Optical access network is an important infrastructure of 5G mobile service and incoming Beyond 5G mobile service. These services request higher reliability for the optical access network and have different demands of fiber access points from that of FTTH service. To meet these demands with keeping high usage rete of optical fibers, a novel concatenated loop topology for the access optical fiber network with remote operated optical fiber switching nodes is being studied. In a switching operation of an optical path in the access optical fiber network, a confirmation of the fiber pass to switch before the switching and a test of the switched pass after the switching are important. Therefore, we are developing a new test method which taps and measures a little amount of optical power of the transmitting optical signal or the testing light in the switching node. In this report, we studied about a tap technique using Fresnel reflection and a optical power measurement technique using infra-red image sensor. We confirmed the test method combined these techniques is potentially practical as the tapping loss can be less than 0.5 dB, the least measurable optical power can be -25 dBm, the mean square error can be 0.64 dB, and over 10 times can be used per a day if it is driven by an optical power source with a power of 0 dBm and a photoelectric conversion rate of 30%. |
