Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we evaluated the response of a non-invasive hands-free swallowing test device using a hetero-core fiber optic pressure sensor to swallowing movement. To prevent skin tears, the proposed device using a pressure sensor senses the movement of the laryngeal prominence associated with swallowing movement as pressure from the skin surface without directly attaching it to the skin. In the proposed device, the pressure sensor was fixed to a belt and wrapped around the neck, which successfully reduces the change in optical loss during not swallowing compared to the conventional device that was fixed by hand and pressed against the neck. In addition, it was confirmed that the proposed device could measure swallowing movement and calculate swallowing time. |
