Development of IoT-based Low-cost Trap Hunting System

Abstract(in English) In recent years, Japanese government tries to improve the efficiency of animal hunting. IoT devices are introduced in trapping equipment for that purpose. However, such IoT-enabled trapping systems are expensive in terms of installation and operation. This is a major obstacle in increasing the number of traps operated by one person. To solve the problem, we have developed a low cost IoT-based self-construction kit of traps for wild animals. The system detects the activation of the trap and notifies the hunter. We have confirmed that the prototype provides equal or better functionality by lower cost compared to existing products.
