Abstract(in English) We investigate mode coupling characteristics in coupled multicore fibers with twist and bend for reducing the group delay spread (GDS). First, we investigate the fiber parameters where the mode conversion occurs in coupled multicore fibers under constant bending radius by adding a twist based on mode coupling theory and show the cause of the mode conversion. Then, it is shown that GDS can be reduced by inserting proposed fiber mode converters in the middle of a long-distance transmission line.
