Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The meaning of fiction is “the act of making something that is not true”. The term is sometimes used negatively because it does not deal with reality, but whether it is useful in the real world or educational depends on how it is used. According to Sato, the "fiction" of a good work of literature creates "a state of mind in which one's previous view of things is blurred, one's footing is shaken, and one is unstable," and also "encourages one to create one's own way of thinking in order to stabilize one's view of things. This is in line with the benefits of narratives as described by Hidaka (2021), and can be called an educational fiction. If we can construct such a fictional space in the virtual space, which is enabled by remarkable development in recent years, we can expect it to have an even greater educational effect than before. In this paper, I will discuss such an educational fictional space, taking up Minecraft. |
