[Invited Talk] Recent R&D Trends in Underwater Optical-Wireless Communication Technologies

Abstract(in English) In coming Beyond-5G / 6G era, underwater is one of the most attractive area as the frontier of communication networking, as equal to high altitude space. If the Beyond-5G/6G network can be seamlessly expanded towards underwater, the IoT service provision area can be spread anywhere. In this report, I introduce the activity of Aqua LAN (ALAN) consortium which was established as a co-creation program of the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) with the aim of creating new industries by digitizing underwater environment information and utilizing data through its networking, and then the latest trends in optical wireless communication technology.
