Efforts to improve facility management efficiency through IoT

Abstract(in English) In recent years, with the rapid aging of society and the declining birthrate, there are concerns that the shortage of human resources for facility management will become more apparent, and that it will become more difficult to secure human resources, especially for nighttime support. In addition, for the purpose of preventing the spread of the new coronavirus, services that avoid face-to-face contact with people are being provided in various industries, and the need to improve management efficiency, such as unmanned operation of facilities, is expected to increase in the future. In this paper, we report on a demonstration experiment conducted at a shower station installed at a rest area on an expressway as an example of an effort to improve the efficiency of facility management using the IoT (Internet of Things) technology.
