Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Radio waves in the high frequency band used in 5G systems have a large propagation loss due to obstacles. Near the ground, due to the influence of the building, propagation loss occurs in proportion to the third to fourth power of the distance. However, in the sky, it can be kept within the square of the distance. Therefore, it has been proposed to use an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) as a radio relay station. In that case, in-line MIMO (LoS-MIMO) transmission is performed between UAVs. However, in LoS-MIMO transmission, the channel capacity decreases periodically according to the transmission distance. This is a problem between UAVs whose transmission distance is constantly changing. Therefore, in this research, we seek the optimum antenna element arrangement to mitigate the deterioration of characteristics. In other words, we propose an antenna element arrangement for LoS-MIMO that does not depend on the transmission distance. The device arrangement is derived by a genetic algorithm and compared with the conventional configuration. In addition, we will mount an antenna, conduct experiments, and evaluate it in a real environment.
