Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Time series motifs are one of the fundamental tools to represent stereotyped repeated subsequences that reflect the conserved behaviors in machine operations, human motions and economic activities. This lecture describes spikelet and time series chains as recent topics in time series motifs. Spikelet is an adaptive symbolic approximation for finding higher-level structure in time Series. Time series chain is a tool to represent the evolving patterns that are associated with the degradation of machines or the change of patient's condition.
