Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We discuss the difference between "face-to-face" and "remote" education and communication effects in universities from brain science perspectives. First, analysis of class concentration, satisfaction, and empathy using simple EEG sensors and questionnaires showed that face-to-face communication was higher than remote communication. Second, we will introduce a neuroscientific study that shows that "eye contact" in face-to-face communication produces empathy. Thirdly, we will argue that even in remote communication where eye contact is not ideal, empathy is higher in one-on-one communication.
