Abstract(in English) To process exponentially increasing intra-datacenter traffic cost-effectively, high-throughput optical circuit switches are needed. So far, optical switch architecture based on the combination of delivery-and-coupling space switches and wavelength-routing switches has proposed. To increase the switch throughput further, spectrum efficiency of the wavelength-routing switch must be enhanced. The introduction of Nyquist wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) technology can enhance the spectrum efficiency. However, Nyquist WDM signals are severely impaired by spectrum narrowing caused by arrayed waveguide gratings (AWGs) within the wavelength-routing switch. In this paper, we demonstrate a high-throughput optical circuit switch that can adopt Nyquist WDM technology. Our proposed wavelength-routing switch includes a pair of AWGs whose passbands are interleaved. With the wavelength-routing switch, Nyquist WDM signals can be demultiplexed without spectrum narrowing. We evaluated the performance of our proposed switch using a pair of AWGs implemented by planar lightwave circuit technologies. Experiments show the total switch throughput of 8.512 Pbps.
