Abstract(in English) At large airports where frequent takeoffs and landings occur, the runway may be temporarily closed due to the effects of metallic foreign objects that have fallen from the preceding aircraft. For this reason, the demand for runway monitoring systems using millimeter-wave radar to detect small metallic foreign substances is increasing all over the world. In this system, the detection area formed on the runway surface by the millimeter-wave radar depends on the radiation characteristics of the antenna used, so it is important to select the antenna characteristics according to the installation conditions of the radar device. In this report, we consider the formation of a detection area assuming an actual runway environment. In addition, in order to realize the W-band antenna considered, we made a prototype using a 3D metal printer from the viewpoint of shortening the manufacturing period and reducing the manufacturing cost, and report the manufacturing method and evaluation results.
