Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Research on supersonic airliners being developed by JAXA and reusable rockets, which are also designed for space tourism, has been active in recent years. In the United States, SpaceX and Virgin Galactic have begun to develop and operate new aerospace transportation systems. With this background, we thought it necessary to establish a new transportation system in Japan in the future, and to consider the establishment of a "spaceport" to connect the ground and space. In this study, we first analyzed Japan's air traffic control system using CARATS Open Data published by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Considering the current overcrowded condition of the sky, we examined the candidate locations for the spaceport. We also defined the conditions for a spaceport in consideration of natural disasters, and narrowed down Okayama Airport as a candidate site for a spaceport among the existing airports.
