Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to improve motivation for exercise and to maintain health while having fun, we incorporated music performance into physical exercise by using the electronic instrument “Cymis”. In order to investigate the effect of lower limb exercise using the Cymis, we measured heart rates from three participants of experiments in which we performed exercise with a bicycle ergometer and the Cymis under the same conditions. As a result of comparing the tempo of the exercise and the heart rate, the heart rate of the bicycle ergometer increased as the tempo of the exercise increased, but there was no correlation between the tempo and the heart rate of the exercise using the Cymis. In addition, the exercise intensity of the Cymis was estimated using the exercise intensity watt output from the bicycle ergometer, suggesting that the Cymis can provide the exercise effect necessary for health maintenance.
