Cut-off Phenomenon Observed in Parallel Combining RF Diode Rectifiers

Abstract(in English) We investigated the behavior of a radio frequency (RF) rectifier array receiving unequal levels of RF power. To consider rectifier arrays, first, we briefly review the theory of unit rectifier with single-series topology. There is a specific output voltage and flow angle that make the output current zero. Using the two specific values, we analyze rectifier array. We theoretically found out the input power ratio at which the lower-input power rectifier goes to sleep. This theory discovers that the cutoff input power ratio is exclusively ruled by the flow angle of the higher-input power rectifier, regardless of the lower-input power rectifier. We verify the proposed theory both numerically (harmonic-balance simulation) and experimentally (6.78 MHz, 100 W) and discover a good agreement with our theory.
