Reconstructing dynamical system from marked point processes and its application to real world data

Abstract(in English) In this report, we applied the method of reconstructing dynamical system for the marked point process to the human photoplethysmogram (PPG) measured from a finger. In particular, we generated a marked point process by extracting the maxima or maxima and minima of the photoplethysmographic pulse wave time series. Then, we reconstruct an attractor from the time series of inter-event interval and marked value of the generated marked point process, or only from the time series of inter-event interval and marked value, and compared with the attractor reconstructed from measured PPG time series. As a result, it was qualitatively confirmed that the recurrence structure of the attractor reconstructed from the original PPG time series was retained in the attractor reconstructed from the marked point process. However, no clear trends were found in the similarity between the inter-point distance distributions of the six attractors reconstructed from the marked point process and those reconstructed from the original time series evaluated by the JS divergence between the inter-point distance distributions on the attractor reconstructed from the original PPG data and attractors reconstructed from the marked point processes.
