Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Radar cross-section (RCS) is an important physical parameter in characterizing the scattering of a target. However, because RCS is a quantity defined in the far-field distance of a target, indoor RCS measurement using an anechoic chamber is usually infeasible for an electrically large object. Moreover, the indoor facility may be unable to accommodate a large target such as a vehicle, airplane, and ship, and in this case, outdoor measurement is required. The aim of this article is to establish a multiscale RCS measurement technique that can handle various size of targets. For this purpose, we utilize near-field-to-far-field transformation (NFFFT) based on synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging. We propose a generalized NFFFT scheme which can handle an arbitrary antenna scanning trajectory. The proposed method is validated by indoor RCS measurement and airborne SAR experiment. |
