Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Small engine machines such as brushcutters, tillers, blowers, and chainsaws are used in agriculture and forestry. These machines have exposed engines, and the high voltage pulses in the vicinity of the spark plugs create electromagnetic noise, a problem that limits their use. In order to study this problem, it is necessary to understand first the electromagnetic noise of the EUT. We selected an engine brushcutter as an example of a popular gaso- line-powered machine and measured the electromagnetic noise near the machine. For reference, we also conducted an initial study of the shielding effect of a metal mesh shield.
