Video Analysis of Catcher's Movement in Pitch Framing

Abstract(in English) Pitch Framing is one of the catcher's techniques that has attracted attention in baseball. It works when catching a pitch near the border of the strike zone or a pitch slightly outside the strike zone. At that time, the catcher moves the mitt and the body a little. Such catcher movements increase the likelihood that the umpire will determine the pitch as a strike. In this research, we analyze the movement of the catcher’s mitt during pitch framing and investigate the effect on pitch framing.
