Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A multi-user MIMO system can achieve high-capacity communication using downlink channel state information (CSI) for each user. In a time-varying environment, however, the actual channel may deviate from the CSI obtained using pilot symbols over time, resulting in degradation of performance. Thus, prediction of CSI at a future time is expected to be effective. The sum-of-sinusoids (SOS) method, which resolves an arrival signal into individual multipath components and recombines them, can extend the prediction range. The authors of this paper have recently presented the SOS method, which resolves the signal in the delay domain using FISTA, a compressed sensing algorithm, and the least-squares method. In this paper, we propose the extended SOS method that resolves the millimeter-wideband signal in the delay-and-angle domain using an array antenna at a base station. This method is expected to enable channel prediction in real propagation environments with many multipath components.
