Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Nyquist OTDM transmission with high frequency efficiency and low inter-symbol interference has been proposed as one of the methods to further increase the communication capacity. A root-Nyquist pulse source with a waveform corresponding to a short time slot is required for its transmitter and receiver. In this study, we propose root-Nyquist pulses generation method using an IQ modulator and nonlinear optical effects in an optical fiber. It also shows the conditions of nonlinear optical effects and dispersion effects in the optical fiber that are suitable for minimizing the required bandwidth of the modulator and input electrical signals in the proposed method, and the minimum input optical signal bandwidth required when the roll-off factor is between 0 and 1. The minimum input signal bandwidth and waveform are investigated by the back-propagation method.
