Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes an optimization method of designing earth observation LEO satellite constellation orbits using genetic algorithm. The algorithm presented here allows to evaluate satellite constellations for monitoring designated areas by the total number of satellites, ground sample distances and total observation time as metrics, and has a multi-objective function with varying weights for each element. The optimization method works well to derive constellation orbits suitable for the design purposes.
