Abstract(in English) | In this paper, a microscopic traffic flow simulator, which can evaluate incidents, is constructed to clarify the influence of the traffic signal control parameters (“cycle length” and “split”) on the efficiency and the safety in traffic flow including pedestrians at an isolated intersection, and relationship between the efficiency and the safety are clarified. Conventional studies have not always shown consistent results in the relationship between the efficiency and the safety, and clarifying this relationship is one of the important issues to be addressed. The results show that the efficiency and the safety are related to positive correlation in environments with a few pedestrians in comparison to the number of vehicles and to weaker correlation in environments with many pedestrians. |
