Safety and Efficiency in Multimodal Road Environment

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we evaluate the influence of the sharing of SV lanes by bicycles and personal mobility vehicles (PMVs) in the three modal transport society with pedestrian(P) /small and slow vehicle(SV) /vehicle(V) by simulation. The results show that being shared SV lanes by bicycles and PMVs with the speed limitation up to 30km/h, improves a safety of bicycles and improves an efficiency of vehicles; it is suggested that setting of the SV lanes which are shared by bicycles and PMVs, rather than just for bicycles, can be an effective means for improving the safety and efficiency of multi modal traffic flows.
