Abstract(in English) | A wireless system using LoRa (Long Range; 920 MHz band; less than 20 mW), which is a kind of LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) wireless technology for IoT, has been developed by the authors for the purpose of collision avoidance between small ships. In order to estimate the communication area of LoRa radio in the sea, the radio propagation model ITU-R P.1546 will be referred in this study. In this paper, the radio propagation characteristics over pseudo-maritime were measured by driving a car along the coastline to verify the degree of agreement with the ITU model. As a result, it was stated that their errors were less than 3 dB in the range of 7≦h2≦12[m], where h2 was the elevation of the car. The results of a preliminary experiment conducted at a power plant for three months were also described, where a logging system was constructed to be installed on actual small ships to measure the propagation characteristics over the sea for a long period of time. |
