Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This research meeting has a special session on "Learning in Sandbox Environments". In this paper, we took up Minecraft, a representative example of such an environment, and examined its potential use in English language education. In addition to introducing various examples of English language education that have been implemented so far, we would like to discuss how to effectively use this unique space for education, with the following pillars: 1) a virtual space that triggers authentic learning, 2) an avatar space that exerts the Proteus effect, and 3) a space for interaction with remote speakers.
