Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to use UHF RFID tags for inventory management of temporary construction equipment, it is difficult to transmit and receive RFID tags using dipole antennas. Because many of the equipment are made of metal. In this paper, a twisted-loop antenna is proposed as an alternative to the dipole antenna, which can transmit and receive signals when placed on a metal pipe , assuming it is used for temporary construction equipment. The frequency characteristics of the input impedance and the directivity gain of the proposed twisted-loop antenna are confirmed. After that, the directivity gain of the proposed antenna is obtained when the antenna is placed on the metal plane which is wider than the antenna size. And the effectiveness of the proposed antenna is confirmed by comparing with the conventional techniques. Finally, the operating mechanism of the proposed antenna is also discussed from the current density distribution and the radiation pattern of the magnetic field emitted from the antenna.
