Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, the travel needs of blind people have increased. As a walking navigation for blind people, the Non-profit Organizations “Kotoba no Michiannai” has published voice guidance for the purpose of outing and walking support. However, “Kotoba no Michiannai” is restricted to necessary destinations such as daily life. Hence the blind people are difficult to visit to where they have not been. Therefore, we proposed an acoustic landmark system in order to support walking. Setting specific points on the digital map between the nearest station and the destination, users can walk to the destination by following sound the markers related to GPS. In this paper, we propose indoor shopping support system using acoustic landmarks, especially when window shopping in facilities where it is difficult to receive GPS. We installed beacons in stores as acoustic landmarks to support blind people's movement in the facilities.
