| Abstract(in English) | A tutorial was carried out in ECOC 2021 on amplification techniques in cladding pumped multi-core EDFA (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) which is expected to reduce power consumption. In this paper, we introduce the amplification technology of cladding pumped multicore EDFA by extracting the tutorial. At first, we start from an introduction of configuration and elements, and compare amplification characteristics of C band and L band. Then, we confirm items for reducing the power consumption and make prospect of the power consumption in future. Finally, we discuss increase of output power in C-band amplification. |
