Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The amount of digital data generated in the world is exponentially increasing day by day, and it is becoming difficult to record all digital data on magnetic or electronic recording devices. Therefore, artificially generated DNA is attracting attention as a recording medium. Since the genetic information can be read from the DNA of living organisms 400,000 years ago, the durability of DNA storage devices may be much higher than that of magnetic or electronic recording devices. On the other hand, DNA storage devices have problems that errors such as substitution, insertion, and deletion occur more frequently than magnetic or electronic recording devices. This manuscript proposes a finite state coding method that can detect and correct the above errors.
