Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The amount of data generated continues to increase due to all changes, such as the evolution of devices, the evolution of communications that connect individual devices, and the diversification of the use of data generated from them. As each organization faces challenges in data storage, the characteristics of magnetic tape media, which were previously often used as backups, are being reviewed. This time, after updating the latest information on magnetic tape media, we will introduce examples of how it is used in research data infrastructure.
