Abstract(in English) Directly modulated lasers that have cost effective, small footprint and low power consumption are attractive as transmission light sources for short-range optical transceivers in data centers. In this presentation, we will give a bird's-eye view of the high-speed direct modulation lasers and describe the technical issues of the direct modulation lasers for PAM 4, which is a communication format applied at 400 GbE. Furthermore, we report the 112-Gb/s and 106-Gb/s PAM-4 operation of the uncooled InGaAlAs-MQW-DFB-BH laser developed.
