[Poster Presentation] On Visibility Improvement of Image with Biased Brightness Distribution by Near Hue-preserving Color Enhancement Method Using Reversible Digital Watermarking

Abstract(in English) We have been investigating the near hue-preserving color enhancement method to enhance the contrast and saturation of color images using a histogram-based reversible digital watermarking technique. However, this method cannot improve the visibility of the specific regions in color image when the brightness histogram of it is biased toward low or high brightness. To solve this problem, two improvements are added to our previous method, i.e. two types of shift processing after the preprocessing and the limit on the number of divisions of brightness bins in color enhancement and embedding processes, which are effective for the noise reduction and the visibility improvement of the enhanced image. From the simulation result, it was confirmed that our method can improve the subjective visibility although the objective score is slightly inferior to the previous method.
