Abstract(in English) | In recent years, PC (personal computer) audio has become popular and the sound quality of digital audio equipment has been improving. However, it has been reported that indirect factors unrelated to the analog audio signal such as the type of cable and the conditions of the PC, affect the playback sound quality and integrity. However, the mechanism of the sound degradation has not been clarified. In our laboratory we are considering that one of the causes of these phenomena is the non-audible high frequency electromagnetic noise. Therefore, in this study, we measured the audio signal output from the audio DAC (digital to analog converter) when high-frequency noise was applied on the power line on the USB (universal serial bus) interface of the audio DAC to elucidate the mechanism. From measured results, it was measured that the high-frequency noise generated the hum noise and intermodulation distortion noise on audible playback sound of the one type of audio DAC, and it was found that high frequency noise could affect to the audible playback sound. |
