Abstract(in English) | This paper presents an experimental study of coverage extension by a leaky dielectric waveguide that leaks radio waves from particles attached to a dielectric waveguide. As the leakage points can be composed anywhere on the dielectric waveguide, it is easy to construct line-of-sight communication environment between a base station and terminals even if some electromagnetic obstacles exist there. This paper shows the measured electric field strength around terminals that are in non-line-of-sight communication environment from an experimental base station. The results show that the electric field strength are improved because of the line-of-sight communication environment constructed by the leaky dielectric waveguide. |
