Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) One of the key technologies that Society 5.0 aims to achieve is Cyber-Physical System (CPS). CPS is a concept of a system which real world and cyberspace are closely coordinated with each other. CPS analyzes various data in the real world in cyberspace and gives feedback to the real world. It is expected to be applied in various fields such as transportation and medical care. Due to the nature of the feedback to the real world, CPS requires real-time performance that has not been required for conventional Web applications. In order to deploy the various real-time services nationwide at low cost and flexibly, Time-Sensitive Networking, a technology which provides real-timeliness over standard Ethernet networks, and multi-tenant data centers, which have been the mainstream in recent years, are considered promising. However, in order to use Time-Aware shaper (TAS) in TSN, it is necessary to specify the traffic class and timing strictly in advance. Therefore, it is difficult to apply TAS to data centers shared by multiple users. In this paper, we propose a Class-Free Time-Aware Shaper that dynamically assigns the class and timing to applications. Our proposed method can eliminate user-side configuration and configuration in the entire TSN domain. We implemented the proposed method as a queueing discipline on Linux kernel and evaluated it with Kubernetes. As a result, we confirmed that the jitter of all applications can be suppressed to less than 10 μs without user-side and domain-wide configuration.
