Abstract(in English) | Optimal joint transmit-receive diversity (JTRD) is a type of multi-input multi-output (MIMO) spatial diversity technique and is designed to maximize the composite channel gain. A set of its transmit and receive diversity weight vectors is a solution of eigenequation or is derived by the singular value decomposition of MIMO. In this paper, instead of solving eigenequations, a new method to obtain JTRD weight vectors by recursive equations is proposed. In general, the number of base station (BS) antennas is much larger than that of user. The proposed recursive method does not require solving large-scale eigenequations and therefore, can be practical. First, recursive equations to be used either BS side or user side are formulated. Also presented is a computationally efficient method for obtaining JTRD weight vector at BS side. Firstly, BS obtains the user side JTRD weight vector (which is much smaller vector size than BS side weight vector) by using recursive equation and then, transforms it to BS side JTRD weight vector. It is confirmed by computer simulation assuming Rayleigh fading MIMO channel that the proposed recursive method can obtain the JTRD weight vectors by only 4 to 5 times weight updating according to the recursive equations and can achieve the channel capacity close to the optimal JTRD. |
