TDOA and AOA Measurement System for Investigating Aircraft Position Verification

Abstract(in English) ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance?Broadcast) is an emerging means of aeronautical surveillance for air traffic control (ATC) such that each aircraft periodically reports own position to the ground. Although ADS-B can provide a better positional accuracy and update rate, anomaly position report has been concerned. Therefore, the reported positions should be verified at the ground before being provided to ATC applications. The authors have been working on a position verification method combining angle-of-arrival (AOA) and time difference of arrival (TDOA). This paper reports development of a measurement system for investigating the proposed method and initial measurement result.
