A study design to investigate a post-interactive dialogue video from a lecture video in video-based learning

Abstract(in English) Video is the most widely used format to deliver a lecture by the tutor/lecturer in electronic distance learning, particularly in MOOCs application. One particular style of video lecture, dialogue-style video, has been studied and it can produce better learning for observer students than monologues. The reason why dialogue-style lecture videos are better than monologue lecture videos is that the observer student learns not only to learn from the tutor itself but from the tutee as well. Inspired by this dialogue-style video lecture, we developed a system that transforms a monologue-style lecture video into a post-interactive dialogue-style lecture video by adding a tutee agent inside the video. We will investigate how is the effectiveness of our post-interactive video lecture compared to the dialogue-style and monologue-style.
