Abstract(in English) | Drones have been drawing a great deal of attention from various kind of industries, such as delivery, building inspections, and agriculture. However, short capacity of battery loaded on a drone limits its continuous operation time. In that circumstance, we are proposing a microwave power transmission (MPT) system for drones as another power source independent of battery. A 16-element receiving array is prepared as a receiver for MPT using honeycomb substrate in order to reduce the gross weight of antennas. It is common to regard honeycomb substrate as air substrate where the relative permittivity is 1 and the loss tangent is 0 for simplified simulations. However, this assumption causes deviation between simulations and measurements mainly with regard to axial ratio. In this study, axial ratio property of receiving antenna elements was modified through S-parameter measurements to get the best performance of the receiving array made of honeycomb substrate. |
