Abstract(in English) | In a large-scale disaster-stricken area, the terrestrial communication systems may not work. As an emergency communication system, the construction of a delay-tolerant network where multiple drones are deployed in the sky and moved continuously to deliver messages has been proposed. In this study, we propose a drone movement method based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) to achieve rapid message delivery over a wide area with a small number of drones. First, we define the movement value as a measure of drones' movement from two perspectives: drone-ground-user and drone-drone communications. Then, we formulate an optimization problem that maximizes the movement value and propose a drone movement method where drones change their destinations at a certain interval according to the solution obtained by solving the problem using PSO. Finally, the simulation results show the feasibility of the proposed method. |
