| Abstract(in English) | The authors developed a server/client system for distant programming education to conduct programming exercises smoothly without degrading performance under the COVID-19 pandemic starting March 2020. The system has been operated for four semesters till now. The server collects codes, error messages, and operation logs from students in real-time, shows them to instructors, and at the same time, manages submission of students' artifacts. The client, a light-weight development environment integrating the syntax editor, configures its environment such as file organization, file names, etc. as specified for each task of the course; that means, the client provides a uniform development and operation environment independent from students' PC environments. Instructors could, by the system, apprehend students' learning and stumble points in real-time and give advices and instructions appropriately. Moreover, students could learn programming in distant even under underpriviledged computing and communication environment of their home without troubled by things irrelative to learning topics such as operation of the development and operation environment. |
