Abstract(in English) | In this study, we examined the relationship between the possession of role models as learning behavior at university and proactive behavior after entering the workforce. Sixty-two respondents (38 males and 24 females) in their second year of employment and 59 respondents (41 males and 18 females) in their third year of employment responded to the survey. The more role models they had at university, the more likely they were to have a role model after entering the workforce. The results showed that the mean values of three of the four proactive behavior factors, "innovative behavior," "network building," and "feedback-seeking behavior," were significantly higher when students possessed role models at university, but there was no effect of possessing role models on "positive framing. The same statistical test results were found the relationship between post-employment role model ownership and post-employment proactive behavior. In addition, the relationship between having a role model and proactive behavior after entering the workforce tended to be similar across industries. Therefore, it seems that whether or not a person can have a role model in the workplace is continuous from the time when the person was at university, and the influence of the tendency of the person to have a role model is greater than the factor of the environment between university and workplace. In addition, role model possession had a significant effect on three of the proactive behavior factors, but not on "positive framing," suggesting that positive framing may be a domain that is less influenced by role model possession or more influenced by one's own tendencies. |
