Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To perceive the information in the limited visual field, we integrate information among the central and peripheral visual fields before and after the saccade. On the other hand, it is considered that the object shape is roughly recognized in peripheral vision and observing its detail at the center of the visual field by a saccade. Therefore it is expected that the observation in peripheral viewing will be affected by the observation in the central vision with several saccades. In order to investigate the learning characteristics before and after the saccade, we conducted an experiment to investigate whether the combination of the center and peripheral orientations of the visual field across the saccade was changed by the learning of the saccade. We found that the learning changed the perception of the apparent orientation in the peripheral visual field, however, it did not depend on the learning orientation. Although the perceptual orientation changed due to one-day learning, it returned to the same perceptual orientation as pre-learning when the measurement was performed the next day after one day had passed.
