[Invited Talk] Generalization of a joint transmit-receive diversity and its application to multi-user MIMO communications

Abstract(in English) In this paper, joint transmit-receiver diversity (JTRD) is presented, which jointly perform transmit diversity and receive diversity. A relationship between sub-optimal JTRD and optimal JTRD is given. Optimal JTRD is shown to be equivalent to maximum eigenmode beamforming. Then, zero-forcing-based precoder design to remove the multiuser interference is presented for multiuser JTRD. Expressions for the up/downlink received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) with suboptimal/optimal JTRD is presented. Explicit and implicit types of multiuser JTRD are shown to be equivalent to hybrid beamforming and full beamforming. Also, an application of base station linear array antenna to multiuser JTRD is presented. Finally, the link capacity achievable by multiuser JTRD in Rayleigh fading channels is evaluated using Monte-Carlo numerical computation method.
