Temporal integration of spatially distributed disparities

Abstract(in English) The human visual system integrates information presented with temporal differences. For example, in slit viewing or segmented painting, humans cannot correctly perceive recognize entire stimulus image unless all elements are presented within a limited time. On the other hand, these studies often use the stimulus only with two-dimensional pictorial cues and do not consider stereopsis. In this study, we investigated the mechanism to integrate binocular disparity information for recognizing the image defined with disparity cue. In Experiment 1, we investigated whether the temporal constraints exist for the integration of disparities distributed in a wide area for recognizing the image defined with disparity. In Experiment 2, we compared the temporal integration characteristics of disparity and luminance.
