Abstract(in English) | This paper presents the sequences and multiplexing scheme for the primary synchronization signal (PSS) and secondary synchronization signal (SSS) using a single-carrier waveform for physical-layer cell identity (PCID) detection in systems beyond 5G. We first investigate the PSS and PCID detection probabilities using an M-sequence and a Zadoff-Chu sequence for the carrier frequency of up to 90 GHz considering the frequency stability of a local oscillator in a set of user equipment of approximately 3 ppm or greater. We also compare the SSS sequence detection method in the frequency domain based on the estimated channel response using the PSS and that in the time domain without channel estimation from the viewpoint of achieving a higher PCID detection probability. Finally, we investigate the effect of hierarchical SSS sequence assignment to decrease the computational complexity of the SSS sequence detection allowing a slight loss in the PCID detection probability for single-carrier waveform. |
