A Method for Estimating Radiated Emissions in Automotive Communications

Abstract(in English) In order to respond to changes in user needs in vehicle development, a method to shorten the development period by estimating EMC performance using MBD (Model Based Development) has been attracting attention. In automotive communications, radiation due to capacitive coupling between ECUs and harnesses used in shielded wires and GND planes increases as communication signals become higher frequency. The analysis including this coupling requires a large-scale analysis, and it is necessary to simplify the shielded wires. However, there is no report on the simplification method for shielded wires. In this paper, we focus on the fact that the impedance of the communication line is kept constant by the structure of the shielded line, and model the line including capacitive coupling by using the termination and hollow structure. Radiated emission measurements show that our method is accurate enough for estimation (12dB).
